On Saturday, Brockenhurst Lodge No. 7040 hosted a lively Quiz Night at the Brockenhurst Masonic Centre, drawing a large crowd of enthusiastic participants. W.Bro. Ian Hayter, along with his wife Mary, kept the event engaging with a diverse array of questions and conundrums, putting the 42 contestants' mental prowess to the test. The quiz featured rounds on identifying car logos, deciphering dingbat images, and answering general knowledge questions spanning topics like space, the UK, currencies, and more. Attendees also enjoyed a delicious meal of sausage 'n' mash, served with gravy, onions, and peas, which received rave reviews. After an intense competition, the team "Universally Challenged" claimed victory, narrowly edging out the second-place team "ARF A Brain" by just two points. The event proved not only entertaining but also charitable, as proceeds from the raffle and entry fees amounted to a commendable £360, all contributing to the 2027 Masonic Festival appeal.
The South West Area recently hosted a successful "Dine-A-Friend" event at the Lymington Masonic Hall. Thirteen non-Masons joined in for an evening themed "From Darkness To Light," aimed at dispelling misconceptions about Masonry. Leading the presentation were W.Bro. Chris Lockwood, the Assistance Provincial Grand Master, W.Bro. Mark Werner, the SWA Chairman, and W.Bro. Andrew Ferguson. The event commenced with introductions and a casual drink at the bar, fostering a friendly atmosphere. Participants then moved to the Lodge Room for the presentation, which covered various topics including Lodge composition, Masonic organization in the UK, membership costs, the advantages of Masonry, and charitable endeavours such as Teddies for Loving Care and the MCF.The presentation concluded with heartfelt testimonials from Bro. Phil Little and Bro. Alun McIndoe, sharing personal experiences of how Freemasonry has positively impacted their lives.Following the presentation, attendees reconvened at the bar area for a delightful meal of chili and rice, accompanied by a raffle that raised £145 for charity.Overall, the evening was a resounding success, characterized by a sense of camaraderie and a warm welcome extended to all guests. #Provincial Grand Lodge of Hampshire & Isle of Wight #memberspathway #masons # Freemasonry in the Community - Hampshire & IOW
